Single column vertical lathe

The difference between a vertical lathe and a conventional lathe is that the main shaft is vertical, which is equivalent to erecting the ordinary lathe. Due to its horizontal position, it is suitable for machining heavy parts with large diameters and short lengths.

The vertical lathe can process inner and outer cylinders, conical surfaces, end planes, grooves, chamfers, etc., and the workpiece clamping and correction operations are more convenient.

The main shaft of the vertical lathe is vertical and has a circular table for mounting the workpiece. Since the table is in a horizontal position, the alignment and clamping of the workpiece are convenient, and the gravity of the workpiece and the table is received by the bed rail or the thrust bearing, and the spindle does not bend. Therefore, the vertical lathe is suitable for processing large discs and large and short sets of parts.

The vertical tool holder on the vertical lathe can be moved along the beam guide and the tool holder rail for lateral or longitudinal feed. The tool holder can be deflected at an angle for oblique feed. The side tool holder can move up and down along the column guide rail, and can also move left and right along the knife holder slide to realize vertical or horizontal feed.

Vertical lathes are large-scale mechanical equipment used to machine large and heavy-duty workpieces with large radial dimensions and relatively small axial dimensions and complex shapes. Such as various discs, wheels and sleeves of the cylindrical surface, end face, conical surface, cylindrical hole, conical hole and so on. It can also be machined, spheroidal, contoured, milled and ground with additional equipment. Compared with the horizontal lathe, the workpiece is clamped on the inside of the clip decoration of the horizontal lathe. The axis of the vertical lathe spindle is vertical, and the table top is in a horizontal plane, so the clamping and alignment of the workpiece is convenient. This layout reduces the load on the spindle and bearings, so the vertical lathe can maintain working accuracy for a longer period of time.
